Mayoral Cadet
Blyth Town Council’s Mayoral Cadet scheme celebrates the contribution of young people to our community, providing a unique opportunity to experience civic life and support the Mayor of Blyth throughout the civic year.
The scheme reflects Blyth Town Council’s commitment to supporting young people, celebrating community service and upholding the principles of the Armed Forces Covenant. Through the Mayoral Cadet scheme, we aim to inspire ambition, encourage greater youth involvement in civic life and recognise the positive difference young people make to Blyth.
The Mayoral Cadet is appointed for a 12-month term where they accompany the Mayor of Blyth selected civic engagaments, community events and commemorative ceremonies, including Remembrance Sunday.
The role offers valuable opportunities for young people to develop their confidence, communication and leadership skills, while gaining first-hand experience of civic responsibilities and community leadership.
