Keel Row Shopping Centre Demolition Update
Northumberland County Council has announced the following:
Starting from the week of 30th September 2024, Thompsons of Prudhoe will begin the demolition of the former Keel Row Shopping Centre in Blyth
Key Info:
• Town Centre & Keel Row Car Park will stay open throughout
• Public toilets will remain unaffected
• The demolition will happen in phases with controls on noise, dust & vibrations
• Site to be cleared by Winter 2024/25 to make way for exciting new developments, including the Energy Central Institute
Please note, this project is being managed by Northumberland County Council, not Blyth Town Council.
Details on plans for the site development will be subject to further engagement and consultation later this year prior to proposed development which is set to get underway in 2025.
Works are part of the Energising Blyth Programme to grow, renew and connect the town delivered by the County Council and funded by UK government , Northumberland County Council and the North East Combined Authority.
