Northumberland County Council Intensifies Efforts to Combat Weeds in Blyth
Blyth Town Council has highlighted concerns over the presence of weeds throughout our town with Officers from Northumberland County Council (NCC).
NCC has initiated an extensive weed removal operation with Operatives deployed across the County. Work commenced in Blyth last Saturday, with a dedicated team focused on the Axwell Drive, Tynedale Drive, and Lindsay Avenue to North Farm areas.
The teams are employing a two-pronged approach: mechanically removing weeds and then treating the root systems with weed killer.
This weekend, the team will be back to continue their efforts in the Solingen and Croft areas. NCC plan to extend these activities of weed removal across Blyth.
While NCC has stated their commitment to tackling the issue comprehensively, the process will take time as it is not feasible to cover all areas simultaneously.
We will provide further updates for residents when we receive details of planned work.
