Exciting Funding Decisions Announced - June 2024

We're thrilled to share the latest updates from the Community Funding Sub Committee meeting held on 11 June, 2024.

Here are the deserving organisations and projects that received funding following submitting applications for support:

  1. Blyth Royal British Legion - £400 for a marching band for the Remembrance services.
  2. Blyth Resource & Initiative Centre (BRIC) - £5,000 for an employability tutor for drop-in job search support.
  3. Blyth Tall Ship - £10,000 for a shipwright carpenter to oversee volunteer safety.
  4. Blyth Rugby Football Club - £5,000 for lighting on the training pitch (pending planning permission).
  5. Briardale House Youth & Community Projects Ltd - £5,000 for staff facilitating older persons' activities.
  6. Isabella Community Association - £4,875 for weekly hot dinners for local residents.
  7. Cowpen Quay Community Association (Buffalo Centre) - £5,000 for window replacements to improve energy efficiency.
  8. People and Drugs Ltd (Silx Teen Bar Youth Project) - £5,000 for evening activities at the Teen Bar.
  9. ESCAPE Family Support - £5,000 for sessional workers assisting the Family Support Worker.
  10. Northumberland Pride Limited t/a Pride Action North - £1,250 for a family pride event.
  11. Holding Hearts Therapeutic Services CIC - £3,450 for the Grief Youth Group for bereaved children.
  12. Community & Voluntary Action Blyth Valley - £10,000 towards core operational costs.
  13. Newsham and New Delaval Youth Forum - £10,000 towards salaries for youth workers.
  14. Blyth Spartans Juniors Football Club - £5,000 for reinforced fencing at Wensleydale pitch.

A total of £74,975 was approved to support these wonderful initiatives and the remarkable work these organisations do to make a difference in our community!


Next Meeting of Community Funding Sub-Committee: Tuesday, 10 September, 2024, at 6:30 pm in the Council Chamber, Arms Evertyne House.

The next deadline for applications to be received is Tuesday, 20 August 2024.
