D-Day Themed Planting

Blyth Town Council requested through our partnership agreement with Northumberland County Council (NCC), that the summer bedding at Blyth Links be themed to commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day.
The horticulture team at NCC has delivered a beautiful display of a poppy; a symbol of remembrance. The poppy is made up of a black grass centre, begonia, a thick border of white alyssum, and a thin border of blue lobelia. The circular poppy bed is flanked by beds of marigolds.
The display was appreciated by the many who turned out for Northumberland Remembers - a family focused event organised by NCC.
The horticulture team are working their way around Blyth planting up the planters and beds, which we anticipate being complete in approximately two weeks.
