Blyth Town Council is disappointed to announce that Blyth has not been shortlisted for the UK Town of Culture title.

We would like to congratulate all of the shortlisted towns and wish them every success in the next stage of the competition. We are especially pleased to see Stockton recognised as the only shortlisted town from the North East and wish them every success in the competition.

We are incredibly proud of our bid, which reflected Blyth's rich heritage, vibrant culture, and ambitious future. We would like to thank everyone who supported the bid and helped showcase everything that makes our town so special.

While this is not the outcome we had hoped for, our commitment to celebrating and investing in Blyth's culture, communities, and future remains unchanged.
