Blyth Town Council submits bid to host National Armed Forces Day 2027

Blyth Town Council has officially submitted its bid to host National Armed Forces Day 2027.
The bid sets out Blyth’s ambition to deliver a national celebration that recognises serving personnel, veterans, cadets, military families and the wider Armed Forces community.
It highlights the town’s proud maritime and industrial heritage, strong community spirit, established event experience, and the local partnerships that could support the successful delivery of an event of national importance.
Hosting National Armed Forces Day would provide an opportunity to showcase Blyth on a national stage, celebrate its Armed Forces connections, and create a memorable weekend of activity for residents, visitors and the military community.
Blyth Town Council would like to thank everyone who has supported the development of the bid and shared their encouragement.
The winning host location is expected to be announced at this year’s National Armed Forces Day event in Aldershot on Saturday 27 June 2026.
