Blyth Celebrates Fund Reopens to Support New Creative Opportunities

Artists, creatives and community groups are being invited to bring bold, imaginative ideas to
life as the 2026/27 Blyth Celebrates Fund opens for applications on Monday 13 April.
Delivered by Northumberland County Council, the fund supports a diverse programme of
creative activity designed to engage communities and audiences in Blyth. From workshops
and performances to community-led projects, the fund champions creativity that connects
people and celebrates the town’s vibrant cultural identity.
A total of £25,000 is available through this round of funding, with nine grants on offer: four
awards of £5,000 and five awards of £1,000. Successful projects will take place between
June 2026 and March 2027 at the Market Pavilion – a creative hub located in the heart of Blyth.
The fund builds on the success of the 2025/26 Blyth Celebrates Fund which supported a
series of creative projects delivered between August 2025 and March 2026 - demonstrating
the power of creativity to reflect and shape local stories.
Councillor Wendy Pattison, Cabinet Member for Culture, Leisure & Tourism at
Northumberland County Council said: "Blyth Celebrates continues to showcase the
incredible creativity and community spirit we have in the town. This fund is a fantastic
opportunity for artists and groups to share their ideas, connect with local audiences and play
a part in shaping Blyth’s cultural future. I’d encourage anyone with a creative idea to apply
and be part of something special."
Applications open on Monday 13 April and close at 5pm on Thursday 30 April. For more
