The installations invite visitors to reflect on the fragility of the earth, humanity’s relationship with the planet and its energy systems. Alongside the launch of ticket sales, the Festival of Energy is opening nominations for a special International Women’s Day Breakfast, to be held under Gaia and Museum of the Moon on Sunday 8 March. This free event will celebrate women who are making a difference in Blyth and the surrounding area, recognising their contribution to local people, neighbours, families and across industry, education, community leadership, creativity and volunteering. Nominations are open to individuals, organisations and businesses.

Your heroine could be a carer, cleaner, good friend, doctor, teacher, a shop assistant who always takes time to chat, a mentor or a community champion. Nominations should be sent to getinvolved@walktheplank.co.uk
