Refurbishment of Cottingwood Green Play Area

Blyth Town Council is excited to announce that we have agreed work will begin this June to refurbish the Cottingwood Green Play Area.
Originally installed by the former Blyth Valley Borough Council, the play area has seen better days. With new housing developments nearby, the space has become increasingly popular—and it's time for an upgrade.
The refurbishment will bring a fresh range of inclusive play equipment, including roundabouts, swings, a seesaw, and springers. A new, safer play surface will also be installed, replacing the current sand, which can be difficult to use during the wetter months.
The project is expected to be completed by the end of July—just in time for the summer school holidays.
To ensure safety, the play area will be closed during the works, which are planned to take place during school term time. Blyth Town Council will do its best to minimise disruption and thanks the community for its patience and support.
