Blyth Town Council Selected to Join Energy Learning Network for Local Councils

Blyth Town Council is pleased to announce its successful application to participate in the Energy Learning Network for Local Councils. This exciting initiative, funded by the National Lottery Community Fund, is designed to help councils across the UK drive the growth of community-led energy projects.
As one of only ten councils chosen nationwide, Blyth Town Council will work alongside other local authorities over the next two years to develop skills and knowledge in delivering sustainable energy solutions locally. The Energy Learning Network, coordinated by Ashden Climate Solutions in partnership with organisations such as Community Energy England and the Centre for Sustainable Energy, supports councils in promoting clean, affordable energy solutions for local communities.
Community energy projects are critical for reducing energy demand, saving on bills, and cutting carbon emissions. From renewable energy installations to energy-saving educational workshops, these initiatives empower local communities to take charge of their energy futures. Blyth Town Council is thrilled to collaborate with experts and fellow councils to turn innovative energy ideas into reality.
Councillor Aileen Barrass, Mayor of Blyth commented "This is a truly exciting opportunity for our town.
