This week Northumberland County Council has  suspended grasscutting so that the team can focus on weed treatment in Blyth.

Many people may not be aware that it's the grass cutting team that also handles weed treatment.

In order to carry out the weed treatment, the grass will go uncut this week.

Additionally, the cleansing team will conduct some weed treatment along their routes on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday including the surrounding areas of the public waste bins.

The sweepers will continue to cover their usual routes.
