Skate Park Update

The Town Council has agreed to build a new state of the art skate park facility at Ogle Drive, to complement the existing offer of recreational facilities here and cater for the needs of the Blyth community. To ensure the project is executed smoothly, the Town Council is working with Silx, a community youth organisation, and Shred the North, an organisation that actively promotes and facilitates skateboarding activities in the Northeast of England.
The previous skate park area will be cleared of equipment, and the ground will be transformed into an open space for children’s play activities like hopscotch, to provide for a diverse range of recreational facilities.
The Council will now be instructing the contractor and hope work will start as soon as possible.
